Simon Kim

My work is based on Figure Drawing. My free-spirited style is obtained by pursuing a variety of modalities: charcoal, watercolors, oil paintings, and mixed media. I believe that blending the unique textures of these art modalities can bring forth a new representation of the standard work. It is a challenge to pursue this vision without regard to the genre; however, my work view is to treat it as a virtual journey in the progression of art.

In 1985, I completed a degree in Drawing and Painting at the Ontario College of Art. Later obtaining a minor in wood and clay work. I opened the Terra Icon Ceramic and Painting Studio in 2005, and spent 10 years providing art education to students.
